Cooking is love.
I am Martina Stähler, a trained home economist. I grew up in the Allgäu, in a family where everyone ran their own business. My brother had a Bavarian tavern with a beer garden, and I helped out there as a girl. I have lived in Kaiserslautern since 1989.
For many years I taught cooking classes for the country women's association and the dairy board, and I taught the nutrition certificate in schools. At the end of 2017 I opened my own kitchen in the Unionsviertel, with long wooden tables and room for 32 people.
I cook classic and fresh, with ingredients from the market, regional and in season. No fine dining, just food that tastes good and that you can cook at home. Tavern classics, cooking like grandma did.
What I like most is getting kids to cook, bringing teams around one table and hosting themed evenings where everyone joins in. I no longer do large catering jobs off site.
